Balthazar has never been loved like this, never been doted on. He's always been part of a collective, a small part and not really vital, but contributing what he could. That used to be enough. Even if he hadn't already left Heaven, though, he realizes now that after the soft kiss, the round of fierce lovemaking, the moments of passionate devotion--being another bee in the hive would never be enough again.
He straightens, spreading his wings, and takes flight, pulling them through space a short way once more, only to land in the entryway to his apartment. It's effectively a penthouse, really, despite his protests that it's just a crash-pad. Balthazar doesn't do much of anything by halves. The entranceway opens up into a large livingroom with dining and entertainment areas on either side, and immense windows opening up onto a small terrace with a view of the Plaza below, and across the buildings into the Wilds beyond.
"There's only the one master bedroom, I'm afraid," he purrs softly into Lucifer's ear. "You'd have to share with me."
