tryingitall: (a bit sad)

The unsteady hands are partly nerves, but also partly a symptom of where exactly Levi's health was when Balthazar met him. He was not doing well, drinking himself into an early grave and indifferent to it. Some side-effects linger.

He looks at Lucifer for a long moment, questioning and curious and surprisingly gentle for a human meeting the Devil for the first time. In truth, the nervousness he's feeling is less in regards to Lucifer than it is to the fact that he's in a whole new time and place. He's been updated, but knowing isn't the same as experiencing.

"He told me a lot about you," he says. "We used to talk a lot when I first let him in, and then he went back to Heaven and there was nothing for a long time. He started talking again after he found this place."

He's quiet for a moment, then adds, "It's weird, how you hear stories growing up, about what the world is like. What you're supposed to believe. None of it prepares you, though."

He offers a handshake. "Levi Gilman, but I guess you know that already, huh?"
